Avoid online shopping fraud with new website

A new website, created in association with the Trading Standards Institute, will help online shoppers find genuine online stockists and avoid bogus websites selling counterfeit or non-existent goods.

Shopping Online

Fake luxury brand websites attract more than 120 million visitors a year and an estimated £82 billion is spent on counterfeit goods online.

Brand-i (www.brand-i.org) is the new website that has been created to help resolve this problem. Consumers can search for their favourite well-known brands and find the legitimate online stockists of those brands.

The directory is free to use and new brands will be added to the website as shopping trends evolve. Examples of the type of brands currently involved include UGG, GHD, Chanel, Ted Baker and two Premier League football clubs.

Read more about the new Brand-i website on the Trading Standards Institute website, or visit the Brand-i website.
