BBC Crimewatch look at romance fraud

18th June 2010

Crimewatch follow detectives from the Serious Organised Crime Agency to show how they tracked down the Ghanaian fraudster behind an internet and postal romance scam which conned hundreds of people out of thousands of pounds.

Romance frauds often target people online and can communicate for months to build up trust before asking for money.  If you have handed over money to someone you haven’t met for something such as flights or medical bills you may have been a victim.
