NatCen Social Research is carrying out research to inform future sentencing guidelines regarding certain types of fraud. The research will involve exploration of how fraud is being committed online and how this impacts on victims.
As part of the research NatCen are speaking to a number of people who have been a victim of fraud.
Taking part in the research will involve you participating in a focus group with a NatCen researcher and up to eight other participants.
The focus group will last for about one and a half hours. NatCen will be holding a focus group in the following areas:
London – 30th August 1830hrs at a central location
Swansea – 3rd September 1830hrs at a central location
Manchester – 5th September 1830hrs at a central location
Leicester – 12th September 1830hrs at a central location
If you would be interested in participating in this focus group please contact the NatCen research team on FREEPHONE (from landlines) 0808 168 8519 / [email protected] before Friday 24th August.
Please provide your name and a contact telephone number so that a member of the research team can call you.
Unfortunately not everyone who contacts NatCen will be eligible to take part. This may be because the type of fraud you have experienced is not within the scope of this study. NatCen will ask you a few questions to see if you are eligible. They will also answer any questions which you may have about the study.
Your participation in the study is entirely voluntary. If you do choose to take part, you will receive around £25 to thank you for your help with the research. Everything discussed will be treated as completely confidential.
