Fraudsters use hospice’s name

People are being warned about bogus callers who are saying they are calling on behalf of a hospice and asking for donations over the phone.

These calls are fraudulent. The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Surrey is reassuring the public that they would never ask directly for donations over the phone or for personal credit card details to be given over an unsolicited phone call.

Don’t give out personal details online

The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice may call their supporters from time to time to update them on developments at the hospice, but they will always direct people to their website and/or the hospice itself if anyone wants to change or make a donation.

The hospice is asking anyone in doubt about whether or not a telephone call on behalf of the hospice was genuine to call them directly on 01252 729 446.
