Online fraud is becoming increasingly common and as more and more people go online at Christmas time the risk to fall victim of fraud becomes more likely.
The campaign launches on Friday 28th November 2014 which is traditionally known as Black Friday. It will run for 12 working days to represent each of the 12 online frauds identified by the City of London Police as posing the biggest threat to the public during the month of December.
The 12 online frauds of Christmas campaign has been launched with a number of partner organisations and local police forces to deliver key crime prevention messages, raise awareness of online fraud and ultimately allow people to protect themselves from becoming a victim of fraud. Victims should be empowered by the campaign and use the information provided to access the professional support available to them through Action Fraud.
